What is Studentersamfundet?
Studentersamfundet is the largest voluntary organization at Aalborg University – by students and for students. In the Student Society, we have a vision that Aalborg University should be the best possible place to study. Through student political, academic, and social activities, as well as member benefits and discounts, we aim to make this vision a reality. All of this is designed to make it a bit easier for you to be a student.
Social activities
Studentersamfundet offers a wide range of social activities. We host several Friday bars throughout the semester, where you can meet other students across different faculties. Additionally, we organize recurring university parties and social events such as study start events, LAN parties, lectures, sports activities, and UniRun. As a member of Studentersamfundet, you will naturally benefit from favorable prices for these types of events.
Student policy
In addition to hosting social activities, Studentersamfundet is also one of the key players at Aalborg University when it comes to student politics. During AAU elections, we are represented in all faculties and have representatives elected to various councils and committees at the university. Additionally, we have the ”Studenterforum”, which is our independent party aimed at setting the overall student political agenda for Studentersamfundet in relation to the university once a month – everyone is welcome to participate!
Local student associations
The local study associations within Studentersamfundet work to improve and enhance the study environment at their specific faculty or program. They focus on both student political aspects and organize exciting study-related events. These can range from socially engaging activities to lectures and presentations by individuals who are relevant to your field of study. If you’re unsure whether there is a local study association for your program or faculty, or if you’re interested in learning more about how to help start one, sign up as a volunteer at the top of the page!
How can you join?
Studentersamfundet is an organization for all students. It doesn’t matter if you're interested in student politics, want to volunteer for one of our events, or have an entrepreneurial spirit. As an organization, we embrace a wide range of interests and are always open to new ideas for events or initiatives that can benefit the study environment at Aalborg University.
Collaborative partners
Studentersamfundet collaborates with the trade union IDA. Through this partnership, IDA supports Studentersamfundet's events through various initiatives
