As a new volunteer, we recommend that you read Studentersamfundet's Bylaws and Guidelines for Groups. Additionally, we encourage you to check if your group/committee has its own bylaws or similar documents that you should be familiar with.

If you're ready to get a bit more involved, we would love to see you at Studentersamfundet's annual General Assembly, as well as at the member meetings that take place 2-3 times a year.

We have an office located at Fibigerstræde 15 on Campus East, and they know everything worth knowing about the organization. So if you ever have questions, they are here to help you. For example, if you are hosting an event and need a room, they can assist with bookings and ticket sales through our webshop. If you need to borrow materials from Studentersamfundet, such as pavilions, a sound box, a grill, or maybe a megaphone, they can help arrange internal transportation to move them from our storage to other locations at AAU, so you don’t have to carry everything yourself. These are just a few of the countless things they can assist with, so don’t hesitate to reach out to them—they can often save you a lot of time and hassle.

It is also the office that helps you if you need reimbursements for activities in your group/committee. To make this process easier for you, we have created some guidelines on how reimbursements work and developed an interactive version of the reimbursement form that should be submitted along with receipts. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to ask the office.

When hosting events, you must remember that Studentersamfundet's logo should always be included as part of the promotional material, as events without it are considered external. A good way to address this is by incorporating Studentersamfundet's logo into your own logo. This way, you only need to use your own logo for the materials, avoiding any issues. Many of Studentersamfundet's groups use this trick, and if you need help creating a great logo or other graphics, you can always contact the Communications Committee at kommunikation@studentersamfundet.aau.dk

You should also remember that AAU has specific rules regarding when you may use their logo, which you can read more about here. In principle, we usually say that you shouldn’t incorporate AAU’s logo into your own, but the wording in the guidelines is a bit vague. Therefore, it is just our recommendation not to mix the two without first contacting AAU Communications.

In Studentersamfundet, we have many events, and it’s important that we capture some good photos. We don’t always have dedicated photographers, so if you take some great pictures, we would love to receive some of them. Photos are incredibly important for giving others an impression of what it’s like to be part of Studentersamfundet, and they can provide new students with a good insight into being a volunteer. To this end, we have created an email address: photos@studentersamfundet.aau.dk, where we would very much like to receive your photos! If the files are too large, we recommend using Filesender, which is free for all AAU students, or WeTransfer, which can be found via a Google search. In your email, please include a few keywords that describe the photos, and indicate if explicit permission has been given to use any portraits for promotional purposes.
